There will not be any formal media credentialing for the 2017 Etchells World Championship. Members of the local, national, and international press are welcome to attend and cover the event, however the organizing authority will not be providing media services such as a media boat or work space at The San Francisco Yacht Club.
It may be possible for select members of the media to secure a space on the spectator boat. Please contact us if interested.
For chartered boats, we request compliance with the restrictions for Coach and Support boats to ensure that there is no interference with the racers. These restrictions can be found in the Sailing Instructions – available prior to racing.
MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES
Monday, September 25: Opening Ceremony at SFYC
Meet the national and international teams that will be sailing for ten countries. All boats will be in the water in the SFYC harbor.
September 26 - 29, 2017: Racing in Berkeley Circle
Racing will be held in the vicinity of the Berkeley Circle (4-7 nautical miles from the harbor), with two races scheduled each day. The first warning is scheduled for noon. A social will be held following each day’s racing, except on Friday when the regatta banquet will be held.
Saturday, September 30, 2017: Final racing day and awards at SFYC
One race is scheduled for the last day of racing, followed by teh awards ceremony.
